LOGO DESIGNING : First step to begin with

A logo for a company is basic and most important requirement. As logo gives a face to company it also should look best in all manners. Along with its looks it should also be designed intelligently. As mentioned a logo is not just a piece of shapes or art it works as a face for any company so all the features of that company and overall related things should also reflected by logo. So logo designing is big process which includes a balance of creativity and comprehensiveness.  So there are some things which are important to look at and keep in mind while and before designing a logo.

The first thing before you start designing process the most important thing is to no that for what purpose

you are designing, means to know about your client business and its requirement. In this first step you will get to know about company research on it and will create a base for your design. So this first step is :

KNOWING THE COMPANY

In the first step you need to know about the basic details before thinking about the design of logo. As to progress for making a logo these are the things which will give you a thought process a theoratical way about how and what your design should be about. So in this first step towards the logo designing process it includes to know about the company and in which firm the company is contributing because these things gonna make your logo comprehensive.

1. Knowing the field of company : Every field have its own symbols and styles which works as a watermark of that field for example, for technological company we use some kind of squares, wire connections type shapes and mostly use blue color in these; and for energy related industry we use symbols like bulb and so on. So knowing about the field of company is very important because its going to be your base of thought process and building of your creativity will be stand on it so searching carefully about field and also look at the examples of the logos about same firm so as to get an idea of your plan.

2. Scale of company : The second thing, after knowing the field of company, is knowing the company's status or say scale on which company is going to work or working because it helps to understand the style of logo as for example: if company is working on a large scale then logo should be dominant and bold so that it can reflect the company, and if your client company is an average company then also logo should be designed in a manner that it look comprehensive. As logo reflects a company so it is equally important that while designing it all the circumstances of company should be taken in consideration. The logo and company should not mismatch or overpower each other.

 

3. Use of logo : The next thing which one should also keep in mind is where is logo is going to be use. It is about knowing that whether your client company is a web portal or e-commerce website or single product company or parent of some sub-companies etc. For example if logo is for any website or web use then it should not be much detailed or should not contain many small designs because as it is for online use it will be going to use as a web icon too so if there will be too much details then it will not appear. At the same time if its going to be used as for banners and poster then your logo design can be detailed one. So knowing the use of logo will also help one to design their logo and make it flexible as per its need.
